The Gantry Parent Association (GPA), founded in October 2015, is a group open to all parents, expectant parents, and other interested parties from the Hunters Point and Court Square areas. We derive our name from our notable neighborhood landmark on the East River. Like the Gantries, which supported cranes to lift locomotives a century ago, the GPA will support schools, the engines of education.
The Gantry Parent Association serves as a central resource and information hub regarding education in the Hunter’s Point and Court Square neighborhoods.
We are focused on learning about the growing residential population to ensure the number of seats and the quality of education keeps pace with the development of Long Island City.
Facilitate communication between elected officials, the Department of Education, and parents as it pertains to education in the Hunters Point and Court Square neighborhoods.
